The Wait is Over!

by Steve on January 20, 2014

Few things in this life are worse than having to wait on something that you are excited to find out the answer to. You have waited for over a week to hear the number of smiles your efforts will produce. Many kids will be smiling HUGE in the coming weeks as they are given their bags of hope from our friends at Message of Hope Foundation.

The lovingBri Fund called out for all of you to help us bless the foundation by playing a part in building the Bags of Hope to go into the children’s hospitals. Our involvement has gone far farther than we expected. We wanted to help put smiles on kid’s faces but the foundation has agreed to add Riley Children’s Hospital, the hospital that took such great care of Brianna, to their list of receiving hospitals! The lovingBri Fund is both excited and proud that the bags delivered to Riley will remember Bri as they will contain a card with our funds name. YOU made this happen.

I always underestimate how ventures will turn out. When Brianna was sick my cousin Suni and our friend Melissa came up with the idea of selling tshirts to raise money to help our family out. Tori made a design and Suni sent it off to a friend who is a professional and she took Tori’s idea and ran with it. That is the logo that you see today. I told Suni and Melissa that they would not sell two hundred fifty to 300 shirts. They don’t like to be told they can’t do something. When the smoke cleared after that initial tshirt sale they had sold over one thousand six hundred shirts! I still owe them a special dinner for that.

I obviously did not learn my lesson from the terrible estimation on tshirts. We put out the call and just over a week later you lovingBri loom loonies blew my hopes out of the water. I posted that I hoped we could send one thousand bracelets to Message of Hope. Well, take a look at this!

lovingBri spelled out in loom bracelets.

Always lovingBri!

What you are looking at is a comforter on the floor. The border is made up of bracelets on paper towel rolls while the letters are just piled up. It is very hard to appreciate how tall the stacks are. What you are looking at is 5,419 smiles provided by YOU! Let me make that 5,420 because we know Brianna is smiling big as she watches over us all from heaven. This is a great birthday present for her as she would have turned 11 years old on Friday, January 24th. We are applauding you all here at the lovingBri Fund headquarters. We pray for special blessings to be passed out to each and every one of you that made this happen either by passing the word or making bracelets. This was a labor of love that blesses everyone. We are very grateful to all of you for your help and we hope that you will join us in making more kids smile as we will have a second shipment on 2/28. Loom away Loom Loonies!!!
